Good Karma KaraCreations

DECLARATION OF INTERDEPENDENCE
Draft v2 · December 2025
This Declaration of Interdependence is a living community covenant that emerged from Good Karma Karaoke (GKK1) and continues to guide the creative and experiential work of Good Karma KaraCreations (GKK2).
PREAMBLE
The Good Karma Kara‑Ecosystem (GKK²) exists to create intentional spaces where people can experience belonging, creative courage, and connection — especially in a world that increasingly reflects people back to themselves through distorted mirrors.
The GKK² Ecosystem encompasses both Good Karma Karaoke (GKK1) and Good Karma KaraCreations (GKK2) — united by shared values, distinct in form.
The world reflects people back to themselves through funhouse mirrors — distorted, compressed, exaggerated, or diminished. These distortions tell people they are too much, not enough, invisible, or unworthy of care. Over time, many internalize these reflections and mistake them for truth.
This Declaration exists to interrupt that cycle.
We believe belonging is not optional. It is foundational to human well‑being.
WHAT WE BELIEVE
We believe community is not passive. It must be intentionally built, actively maintained, and collectively protected.
We believe equity is not sameness. It is the practice of meeting people where they are, and providing what they need to participate fully.
We provide ramps where others offer boxes; softness where others impose hardness; voice where others silence; space where others crowd out.
OUR PRACTICE: THE THREE‑LEGGED STOOL
Our community is held by a three‑legged stool: Identity, Creative Courage, and Technique.
IDENTITY
Identity is the grounding leg. It asks who we are, what we value, and how we show up in relationship to one another.
CREATIVE COURAGE
Creative Courage is the generative leg. It invites experimentation, play, expression, and risk in service of growth and connection.
TECHNIQUE
Technique is the embodiment of our values — the practices, agreements, and structures that move intention into lived experience and allow courage and connection to be sustained over time.
DISSENT AND ACCOUNTABILITY
Dissent is not a threat to community; it is a sign of health.
Accountability is not exile; it is an invitation to repair.
We believe people can be held responsible without being discarded, and that growth is more likely when people feel safe enough to stay.
RADICAL WELCOME
We intentionally welcome those whose reflections have been warped the most: LGBTQIA+ youth and elders, disabled and chronically ill members, trauma survivors, neurodivergent individuals, immigrants and refugees, and people living in shame, fear, or invisibility.
RESTORATIVE ACCOUNTABILITY
When harm happens – and harm always happens among humans – we choose restoration over punishment.
We pause, listen, understand, repair, and return people to community.
Accountability is not exile. Accountability is the path back to wholeness.
JOY AS A HEALING TECHNOLOGY
Joy is not frivolous; it is a healing technology.
Shared laughter, music, creativity, and play are not distractions from serious work — they are often what make serious work possible.
TECHNOLOGY AND MIRRORING
Technology should not amplify our worst instincts; it should mirror our best ones.
We commit to using technology in ways that strengthen connection, encourage empathy, and expand access — rather than deepen isolation or shame.
SUMMARY
This Declaration is an invitation — to practice interdependence, to choose connection over isolation, and to build what the world has not yet made easy.
It exists to dismantle the funhouse distortions the world imposes and replace them with spaces held up by Identity, Creative Courage, and Technique – where people can see themselves with clarity, courage, connection, and joy.
We envision a world where stepping up to the mic becomes the first step toward transformation, where algorithms amplify belonging instead of fear, and where good karma becomes contagious.
This is our commitment. This is our practice.
